Mr. Duran holds a Master of Public Administration degree, complementing a distinguished 21-year career in active duty with the U.S. Army. His extensive military background includes service with the 3rd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR), where he honed critical skills in leadership, operational planning, and high-stakes decision-making. Further demonstrating his expertise in emergency response and public safety, Mr. Duran is certified in FEMA Bombing Prevention and holds National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic credentials. Mr. Duran also holds a private pilot license. He currently serves as a Deputy Sheriff with the Houston County Sheriff's Office, where he also acts as Court Security for the Houston County Juvenile Court, ensuring the safety and integrity of judicial proceedings. Beyond his professional life, Mr. Duran is deeply invested in his community. He is a proud husband to Dr. Jacquelyn N. Duran and actively contributes as a board member for Operation Arresting Hunger. His commitment to youth development is evident through his role as a U10 little league soccer coach, and he is an active member of Christ United Methodist Church. In his free time Mr. Duran enjoys Golf, Soccer and Flying. Wilson A.
